Low-Effort, Last-Minute Social Media Ideas to Implement Today

We’ve all read the articles from influencers and experts that say you have to post 30 times a day in 3 different formats on every single platform to see good performance.

And we’ve all, at some point, been gung-ho about posting all the time. We can just hear ourselves at the beginning of the year shouting, “Yeah! Let’s go! Content, content, content!”

And then there’s us now, 11 months later: 😒😓😭 Yeah, it’s not such a walk-in-the-park all the time, is it?

Since we know we struggle with getting inspiration for content sometimes, we wanted to share some low-effort, last-minute social media ideas!

1. Create a series!

One example would be our “Leadership 101” series where we share leadership tips in one post every week.

With this on our calendar every week, that’s one spot we don’t have to worry about coming up with ideas for. And you can drag this on for up to four weeks!

Plus, you can have 2-3 different series running at once 😏

2. Repost user content

Your customers or users are the biggest advocates of your brand, and word-of-mouth is super important in marketing.

And, by reposting user content, you don’t have to create anything yourself. You just have to get permission to repost what they have already posted.

Popular platforms for this are Instagram, and reposting tweets onto Instagram.

3. Repurpose, repurpose, repurpose

When you’re really running low on steam and can’t think to save your life, repurposing is always an option!

Especially if you have lots of already existing content on other platforms.

One thing we like to do at Wholeful Media is taking a blog post we published in the past and turn it into a graphic, video, reel, or TikTok.

It works every time!

4. Quotes, questions, & polls

Let’s be real – most people aren’t spending more than a few seconds on one tweet or post while they’re scrolling, so sometimes less is more!

Create a cute graphic of a quote or question or ask a poll on your Instagram story or on Twitter. It catches your attention and encourages engagement with your audience.
