1. Find niche opportunities
And by niche, we mean niche. It isn’t smart anymore to simply advertise where everyone else is advertising. While there is some value in marketing on mainstream platforms that everyone knows and uses, the new marketing strategy is finding your niche platform.
Where are your prospects hanging out? What platforms do they use the most? Quora, Reddit, podcasts, billboards, and influencers are just a few out-of-the-box ways to reach your specific audience.
And you’ll never know unless you ask – use social media and email to get surveys out to your prospects, leads, and customers. Find out exactly what kind of marketing strategies they respond most to, what they like to see, and where they like to see it.
2. Buy a dead blog or failing product
Sometimes you have to get creative and be efficient with resources, and that’s where dead blogs and failing products come in. It won’t take you long to scour the business world for an unused blog or failed product that you can turn around and make your own.
Instead of starting your own blog from scratch or coming up with an idea for a freebie, take advantage of what’s already out there. Websites like blogsforsale.co list already money-making blogs in tons of different niches, categories, and industries.
Check it out – you may find something you know would pull your audience in.
3. Cross-promote and co-market
This is where knowing others in your industry can be beneficial. Attending events and offering to speak at webinars can get you noticed – and it’s a free to low-cost strategy. You could even partner with someone to create a freebie like an ebook, guide, download, etc.
You’ll get the benefit of their audience while they get the benefit of yours, and you might even be able to create some pretty amazing products or services by putting your brain power and hard work together. For example, you could work to create your own webinar to generate leads for your business.
4. Create a product for lead generation
The beauty of this strategy is that it could be anything. A free ebook, a how-to email series, usable templates, guides, or even a small “starter” product that wouldn’t take too many resources to develop but would still provide value, like a free trial of sorts.
Here are some other ideas as well:
- Incorporate a form into a video
- Create an intriguing poll or quiz
- Develop a valuable interactive tool on your website
- High-quality, relevant blog content and blog series
- Free podcast
And the list goes on. Just be sure to ask for their email and contact information when they sign up, watch the video, download, etc.
5. Engage your customers
There are lots of ways to connect with your customers, and you should be taking advantage of each and every one. According to Sprout Social, 64% of consumers want brands to connect with them.
Social media is one of the best strategies to do this. Share product reviews, reach out to customers asking to re-post or share their content, create polls, and ask questions.
Social platforms can also be used to perform customer service. Direct message your customers, understand their problems and provide solutions, all while responding quickly and making sure they feel like they received the individual help they were looking for.
6. Use content marketing
Your customers want to know they can trust you – they want to know you know your stuff. And they want to be helped. The best way to provide relevant, useful information while establishing authority and knowledge in the industry is through content marketing.
Map out your customers’ journeys. Figure out what kind of help they need in what stages of their journey. And then be there with that information, ready and free. It could be blogs, how-to videos, guides – anything that is well-thought-out and genuinely useful.

7. Change focus from LEADS to CONVERSATIONS
Instead of focusing your strategies on acquiring leads, focus on having meaningful conversations with prospects. Use chatbots to provide the best 24/7 customer service and engage high-intent users.
For example, if someone viewed pricing, left a cart at checkout, read your case studies, etc. reach out to them. Whether it be through email, chatbot reminders on your website, or whatever else – be sure to choose the right form of communication for that specific prospect and provide the exact knowledge they need at that time to help them make a decision.
8. Create more videos
Video is the most important marketing strategy for 2021. In fact, here are some stats to show you what we mean:
- Making an impression: people actually retain 95% of the message of video, as opposed to only 10% when they read text
- What customers want: 86% of consumers want to see more videos from brands
- When customers decide to buy: 90% of consumers say videos help make the decision to purchase or not
9. Double down on high-traffic pages
Find blog posts that are doing well and optimize them. Add relevant links to your other content, incorporate more CTAs or an offer on the page, or make sure to update the content to keep it evergreen.
This goes for website pages too – whichever pages of your website are the most viewed should get constant updates from your team. Ensure site speed, user experience, CTA placement, and such are optimized.
10. Use the words “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE” in your marketing copy.
Even if your product or service has little to do with artificial intelligence, make sure you create some kind of copy around it. Write a blog post about artificial intelligence in the news, share product updates or ideas that your company will use in the future, etc.
